Bee, Wasp & Hornet Control in Seattle and Surrounding Areas
Bees, Wasps and Hornets are mostly active in the summer and fall. Wasp build paper like nest starting in late spring. They continue to increase the size of the nest and number of workers until late summer, when workers are at their peak and the production of new queens and males begin. A typical wasps nest can vary in size from the size of a grapefruit to a basketball size. They hang from trees and leaves and have also been located in the ground, walls, voids, landscaping, attic and crawlspaces. Always approach the nest with caution, as these bees are very territorial and quite aggressive.
Yellow Jackets
Yellow Jacket workers are about 1/2” long, short and blocky. All Yellow Jackets are yellow and black or white and black.
Paper Wasp
Paper wasp are 3/4” long and more slender. They have long legs and coloring which is usually red and yellow or mostly yellow with small areas of black. Paper wasps are generally more aggressive than yellow jackets.
